The Cruel War of 1950 - 1953 & its Events
June 25th 1950:
The war begins. North Korea invades South Korea with 135,000 men.
June 25th 1950:
South Korean President Yi Seungman executes 100,000 people because he is worried that South Koreans will join the communists.
June 27th 1950:
The United States joins the Korean War. The U.S joins to prevent the spread of communism.
July 4th 1950:
The U.S is defeated as Osan, South Korea.
September 15th 1950:
The United States earns a victory at Inchon, South Korea in a battle lead by General Macarthur.
October 1950:
China joins the Korean War and fight besides North Korea.
October 20th 1950:
The U.S troops reach the capital of North Korea and hope that the war will be over soon.
November 24th 1950:
The United Nations forces a "Home by Christmas" offensive by telling the sent soldiers that they should be home by Christmas but had to retreat instead due to China's soldiers.
February 1951:
Peace talk begins.
April 1951:
General Douglas Macarthur is fired after disagreeing to bomb China as President Truman suggested.
September 13th 1951:
The Battle of Heartbreak Ridge begins and results in a victory for the United States.
November 4th 1952:
Dwight Eisenhower is elected for president. He states that he will end the war in Korea in his campaign.
July 27th 1953:
North Korea and South Korea both agrees to a truce. They decide to keep the two countries separate and create a neutral zone called the Demilitarized Zone for borderlines.
Today:
North and South Korea may have ended their fighting on 1953, but the two countries still have yet to come to an agreement.
